Wellcome Trust Translational Medicine and Therapeutics (TMAT) Programme

The novel TMAT programme is funded by a £5.5 million grant awarded to the Clinical Pharmacology Unit. It is designed to attract the brighest clinically active candidates at several levels of seniority, ranging from MB PhD students to clinical lecturers. Some may be wishing to develop translational skills in their chosen specialty, other not differentiated who may become future leaders and teachers of translational medicine. Part of this will be based on a bespoke, modular MPhil. We have assembled an outstanding faculty of supervisors spanning a wide choice of skills and experience in basic and clinical science. All trainees will have the opportunity for hands-on exposure to the design and conduct of experimental medicine studies investigating the therapeutic potential of new drugs in collaboration with our industrial partner GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).

The TMAT MPhil is also offered as a stand-alone programme via the University of Cambridge. A postgraduate diploma option is also available.

For further details including how to apply, please see the TMAT website.
