Research Description
My research interest centres on the physiology and pharmacology of the cardiovascular system, and particularly hypertension, the large arteries and endothelial function. Current research projects include investigating the effect of ageing on the cardiovascular system, the link between inflammation and arterial function, and the effect of novel nitric oxide donors on pre-eclampsia. I am also involved in a number of large collaborative studies including CLEAREST Study, the Caerphilly Heart Study, ENIGMA Study and Whitehall II.
